Bringing your puppy for Grooming for the first time!

Its most important to get your puppy used to being groomed from an early age, as soon as he or she has had her vaccinations its a good idea to bring him or her along just to get used to being handled and hearing the sound of clippers etc even if they are not being used on them on the first visit.
There is nothing worse than for your dog to be petrified of the groomer, it is so much better for groomer and dog if the experience is a good one.
It is also a good idea to handle your puppy as much as possible to get it used to its paws being touched and its face in particular. Brush him or her every day if possible even though he may not need it to begin with.
In the long run if your dog is used to being groomed it will take so much less time and be more pleasant for your dog and a much quicker experience than having to wrestle to groom it.
I always take the time for puppies to get to know me and the salon, not rush them into anything until they are happy and relaxed.
